Why is I-CAN!® Free?
I-CAN!® was created by a non-profit organization, the Legal Aid Society of Orange County (legal-aid), as a tool to help those who cannot afford an attorney to prepare thier legal forms. I-CAN!® is funded by the State of Massachusetts, Family and Probate Court, Massachusetts Justice Project, and other non-profit organizations, and users like you. You have the option of making a donation to support I-CAN!® by clicking on the "Make a Donation" link.

Do I need to download any software?
No, I-CAN!® is an Internet-based application so there is no software to download. If you do not already have Adobe Reader you will need to download it to print your forms. It is free: download it at www.adobe.com .

Is I-CAN!® Secure?
I-CAN!® uses 128 bit encryption technology to prevent your information being breached through the Internet. Our servers are in a dedicated AT&T DataCenter with full security and biometric access. We are FTC compliant to ensure your information is safeguarded. You can also click the "Data Policy and Privacy Policy" found at the bottom of the page for additional information.

How much time will it take to go through I-CAN!®?
Using I-CAN!® generally takes 30 minutes to 2 hours. The type of forms you create, and the amount of information you enter will vary based on your case and how quickly you enter information. You can exit and return later and continue entering your information. The information is saved for you and you do not need to enter it again. Log in again with your password to continue your forms.

Do I have to finish all the questions at one time?
No, you can begin using I-CAN!® and if you don't have the time to finish, or you don't have all the information you need, you can exit and return later and continue entering your information. The information is saved for you and you do not need to enter it again. Log in again with your password to continue your forms.

What if I lose my Password?
Your password is printed when you first begin using I-CAN!®. It is also printed with your court forms on a separate page. If you lost your password, you can start over by selecting "I am new to I-CAN!®" when you start using the software. You can also click the link "Need Help?" and ask for your password to be emailed to you. You will need to provide your full name, type of forms you are completing, and about when you started. Passwords requested during normal business hours are usually sent within a day.
