Domestic Violence
Family abuse is very serious. If a relative or someone in your home has abused you, you can ask the Court for a protective order.
A protective order is a court order that tells the abusive person to stop the abuse. It can also tell that person to not contact you, your family and anyone who lives with you. The order can also tell the abusive person not to go where you live or work.
You can use I-CAN!® to help you fill out the forms you need to get a Protective Order. It takes about 30 minutes to an hour. .
